Scam Alert. How to find out if I've been corresponding with a scammer?
Pay attention to the following facts and RED FLAGS:
1. When a woman first starts correspondence with you on a free dating site - there is a big probability that she is a scammer. Russian women appreciate men's initiative usually.
2. She speaks pretty good English and corresponds very actively - Russian girls usually don't know English well enough to write letters to men or have no time and opportunities for active correspondence.
3. You don't know anything about her except for her e-mail and photo.
4. Your letters sent to her personal postal address get back undelivered or she can't be contacted by a way other than her email or her agency.
5. Very soon she falls in love with you (2-3 weeks) - You certainly understand, it's impossible.
6. She makes hints on different economic problems - scammers can wait until you suggest sending money yourself.
7. She sends you intimate photos or she has no new photos at all.
8. She wants to travel to your country - First you should visit your lady in her city, make sure that your relationships are profound and true, and only then you can invite her to your country. In Russia it is considered to be dangerous to go abroad to meet a person you do not know.
9. She doesn't answer your questions - Scammers usually have no time on answering letters, they use letter-templates in order to make their "bloody business" more effective.
10. She asks for money - Don't send money to a lady if you've never met! It's a number one rule for everyone who decides to find love online. Try to find a way to pay yourself for your phone coversations, for correspondence, for translations etc.
Perform a simple check of the woman. - You can send a courier with flowers or with your letter to the address she provided where her passport will be checked and her current photo will be taken.
